Why do we do, what we do?

The annual hosting of the Funtastic events are the culmination of thousands of volunteer-hours by the Funtastic Sports Society board and three to 6 days of on the ground work by a cadre of volunteers numbering more than 500 throughout the event! Why do we go to this effort every year? It is about bettering the quality of sport and recreation in our community. From the sport's perspective the events are important to:

• Our sport organizations; that they have improved fields and playing opportunities
• Our local teams as an opportunity to play in a first-class fun tournament in their own backyard
• Our visiting teams as one of their first choices year after year for holiday plans
• Our local business community for the millions of dollars generated as a sport tourism event

We also do it because of the fun we have, but more about that later!

What are we specifically up to for this year's event?

The best event yet! We have a lot to be proud of, but we still things to achieve:

• Success this year means hosting a world-class event
• Success this year means "Ecstatic Volunteers"
• Success this year means "Ecstatic Players/VIPs/Sponsors"
• Success this year means continuing to build the sustainability of our event
• Our volunteer structure and our first- class reputation

What do we do?

We perform challenging physical tasks, it's a great way to get in shape. We put in some long hours at the ball field; some over a 5 to 7 day commitment. We perform our tasks with lots of drinking water and sunscreen (welcome to the sunny Okanagan). We have many departments include set up/tear down, afternoon special games and communication, scoreboard and many more...

and if the slo-pitch tournament doesn't work for you, our society is always looking for volunteers throughout the year too!

Mostly........We Have Fun at Funtastic!

In exchange for your commitment to Funtastic we will provide you with:

• The opportunity to participate in one of the best sporting events in the region- up close and personal
• Lots of laughs
• A few social functions- including music wristbands
• Snacks, beverages and parking pass
• A volunteer appreciation evening

Available Volunteer Roles:

• Logistics- Set up/ Tear down: Typically the choice for the new volunteer, we match you up with seasoned veterans in this, the largest working group of the event committee. Field preparation, fence installation, camera system installation, signage set up and tent set up and maintenance. Then we take it all down and put it away for another year.
• Volunteer Area- Help to coordinate and assist the volunteers.
• Administration- Registration Office: Registration, administration, silent auction.
• Logistics-Fueling equipment: We fuel all engine devises each day, from ATV's to generators.These are but a few of the many activities volunteers participate in helping with.
