Chase the Bear 7:30pm

Originally hailing from the wilderness of Fort St. John, BC, Vancouver’s Chase The Bear mixes catchy hooks, roaring electric guitars, and hard-hitting rhythms inspired by classic rock with soul and pop influences. The act has performed over one hundred shows, including a sold-out show opening for The Trews at Vancouver’s iconic Commodore Ballroom.
The outfit has been playing in the southern end of the province since 2015, starting by busking on the streets of Victoria after brothers Troy and Leo Gilmore and childhood friends Connor Brooks and Braedan Royer moved from Fort St. John, B.C. with the dream to turn music into a career. They quickly gained recognition for their catchy original music and singer Troy’s bluesy, powerhouse voice before picking up keyboardist Kevin Parker and guitarist Jordan Phillips and moving to Vancouver.
Chase The Bear recently signed to the innovative new Vancouver-based record label, Rock Is Dead Records, the first-ever label to be distributed by 604 Records. Rock is Dead Records is founded by music producer Danny Craig, and photographer and video director Dave Benedict, who are also bandmates in chart-topping, million-selling Canadian rock band Default.
Their debut album, “Honey” was released on January 20th, 2023
“Inspired by the likes of The Trews and The Glorious Sons, Chase The Bear, given time and resources, could join the ranks of these successful Canadian rock bands.”
-Darrell Gilmour (Vice President, Macklam Feldman Management)
“You must see this band. Let’s help them establish a core base and turn this into their proper new home … Chase The Bear were relentless from start to finish.”
-Jon Williams (DJ and Host, What Was That Radio)

Psychic Driving School 5:45pm

Psychic Driving School is the brainchild of Aaron Cyr, Casey Stone and Jeff Mathers and comes straight out of the gate like hurricane of spit and attitude. Unapologetically embracing their own brand of high octane, groove-based riff rock with deliciously explosive, in-your-face live performances, concert goers can’t help but be swept up into the flood of sonic energy that the band endeavors to serve up every night.
Formed in Vernon, BC, Canada on the fateful summer of 2020, Cyr, as a common denominator, brought two former collaborators (Stone and Mathers) from past projects with him into the rehearsal studio with the goal of writing a potent offering of “bangers” that felt as exhilarating to deliver from the live stage as it is fitting to blast through those air pods while jumping out of a plane, hitting the terrain park, or dropping the hammer and peeling off down the open road.
As music venues new and old throw open the doors to welcome back the hungry throngs of audiophiles eager to rediscover the immersive joys of the live music experience, PDS is at the forefront of what many are touting as the rebirth of the independent rock scene.
Early reviews from viewers and delighted promoters include “Couldn’t take my eyes off the stage” and “Highly energetic and entertaining”. Packing a hooky 3 song, self-titled 2022 debut release mixing elements of southern rock, punk and stoner metal and armed with an incendiary stage show, Psychic Driving School is undeniably among those up-and-coming acts that are setting the scene for what appears to be the imminent arrival of the long-awaited new rock movement.
